What can we say…but we miss you!

We don’t know when BUT when the time comes, Calia Hair will be ready for you.

We want you to know we are working now on taking the necessary steps to make sure Calia Hair will have implemented the highest standards in hygiene and sterilization -- keeping the health and safety of our valuable guests and our talented staff in mind.


  • We will thoroughly clean and use a hi-grade disinfectant prior to reopening, including all tools, surfaces, etc.,

  • After each client, all tools, shampoo bowls, workstations, chairs, etc., will be disinfected.

  • We will remove all unnecessary items (magazines, newspapers and any other unnecessary paper products/décor, tables) from reception areas and work stations.

  • High-touch surfaces like door handles, washrooms, chairs etc., will be sanitized on a regular basis. 

  • Hand sanitizer is readily available for you use, and request you sanitize your hands upon entry.

  • All of our staff will be wearing face masks, shields and gloves. 

  • In the first phase of our reopening there will be no designated waiting area; please wait outside or in your car respecting social distancing until we’re ready to serve you.

  • No more cappuccinos for now and we request you do not bring in any external beverages. 😊


Calia Hair is committed to ensuring our staff are trained on the proper Health Canada guidelines, 

which will also include regular hand washing, cough and sneeze etiquette, 

use of PPE and other protective behaviours. 





  • We request you wear a face mask in the salon at all times. Please wear your own or we will supply you with a disposable mask.

  • When possible please leave all shopping bags, purses at home and arrive only with your personal device and a cashless form of payment – debit/credit card. Gratuities can be added to the total at check out.

  • Appointment times must be respected, and clients that are late will not be accommodated.

  • Due to the high demand, missed appointments will be charged.

  • We are ensuring appointments will not overlap, and we ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your booked appointment.  In the first phase, we will not have a waiting area inside the salon. 

  • Please do not bring family members/pets., to your appointment. Service animals only will be allowed.

  • Our reception area will be protected by a plastic shield – but our smiling faces will not disappear – even under our masks.

  • Our floor area will have markers indicating where guests should stand when checking in or out.

  • Movement throughout the salon will be guided by the physical distancing requirements.





  • Only a certain number of chairs will be in use at the same time – with more than 6 ft of distancing between them.

  • Priority will be given for our senior clients requesting appointments earlier in the day.

  • Smocks will be washed after each use. 

  • We will offer dry cuts if requested – saving you time at the salon.

  • Pre-wash your hair the day before or day of appointment.

  • If you prefer, you can opt-out of the blow-dry service – please advise when you make your appointment or your stylist.

  • Washrooms will not be accessible.

  • Please do not visit if you have a cold, fever or have been in contact with anyone who may have been compromised.


While we wait to hear from Health Canada and the government on when we might be able to open, we are working on a strategic re-opening plan, keeping in mind the health and safety of our staff and guests by adhering to the highest standards in hygiene and sterilization. Once we have more information from the government and Health Canada regarding opening dates, we will send out another communication with the final details.




We certainly appreciate the urgency to be first inline. To help manage the requests, Luisa and Debbie will be calling all clients who had appointments cancelled during this time. As scheduled times may have to be adjusted, we appreciate your understanding in this new chapter of Calia Hair in this new normal world. Walks-in will not be accepted at this time.


  • Every client receives an email or phone call confirming their appointment and outlining new sanitation protocols. 

  • 24 hours before appointment, each client receives a Consultant and Health Intake Form confirming their appointment/service, and their health status. For those who do not have access to emails, we will review the form with you on the telephone, and you will be asked to sign it when you arrive.

  • Please accept the terms and conditions sent to you prior to your appointment. 

  • Any adjustment to appointments may not to be accommodated.


Remember, together we are stronger – so keep connected and check on your neighbours. 

We will continue to monitor the situation and guidelines as they evolve and ask you

to follow the advice of our health care officials.
